Tiana – Hanazuki Meet and Greet

On Sunday 16th July, I hosted a Tiana – Hanazuki meet and greet at Tescos in Top Valley, Nottingham. You should all know who Tiana is by now but if you don’t, here is a quick update. Tiana is a 9 year old YouTube superstar with over 5 million subscribers. Her videos are watched by kids all over the world. It all began for Tiana in 2015 when she asked her dad to help her make her own channel.

What or who is Hanazuki?

Hanazuki is a new brand developed by the guys at Hasbro. It launched in the UK on 12th January 2017.The Animated children’s show, is web based and set in a fictional galaxy. There are 27 x 11 minutes episodes in season 1 which air throughout the year, timed to the full moons. ‘Hanazuki’ is a childlike being called a Moonflower. She uses her emotion-based powers to protect her home from being obliterated by a dark force known as the “Big Bad”. As well as that, Moonflowers can use their emotional states to activate magical “treasures”. Living with the Moonflowers are Hemkas. Hemkas are small, rabbit-like creatures that inhabit Hanazuki’s moon.

To go along with the series there is a range of merchandise with new products being launched in August. They were all on display at the Tiana – Hanazuki meet and greet. They included a Moodgleam wearable, the Hemka plush toys and the collectable treasures. I am actually running a competition where you could win a Moodgleam watch, a treasures blind bag, and the new Hanazuki magazine(out August 8th 2017). Keep reading to find out how.

One of the key things about Hanazuki’s fictional world is the way the flower on her head reflects her mood. This is shown in the diagram below.

Hanazuki Episode 1

Here is the first episode of the animated series. Hanazuki is born on her moon. First, the Moonflower gets to know her roommates – Eight cuddly crazy hemkas. Together with them she finds out that it is worth fighting for something. Thanks to her determination, she masters the situation and manages to grow the red tree from a treasure gift.
